Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.

Culturally-responsive therapy for South Asian folks
There is an aching inside of you that is hard to describe. You’ve managed to keep it tucked away for years, and lately you are noticing it’s becoming harder to sleep, to concentrate on tasks and small things in life are resulting in big emotions. It’s becoming harder to keep up with the pace of your very full life. Sure, you’ve experienced hard things in the past, but this feels different. Underneath all of this, you are constantly navigating the multiple worlds of your life and expected to do it all perfectly. No one would guess what you’ve survived in your life based on what you show to the world. You find yourself asking: Is something wrong with me? What will my (fill in the blank) say if they knew what I was thinking? You look around and notice generations of grit, dedication, sacrifice…and silence. Pin-drop silence when everything inside of you is shouting for help.
You are ready for a more authentic life.
You’ve tried therapy in the past and it was hard to connect. Even talking to friends and family has had its limits. There is so much of the past that “we just don’t talk about”, and so hard for people on the outside to understand. Therapy that is culturally affirmative can provide relief and a safer place to tell as much or as little of your story as you want. There is nothing wrong with you, in fact, the wisdom of your body is sending signals (headaches, pain, irritability, loss of appetite, etc.) that those things “we don’t talk about” are catching up to you. Although the pain of betraying yourself is deep, the thought of hurting those around you with your truth feels even more painful.
My name is Reena, and I’ll journey with you.
I am a therapist in Chandler, AZ who has lived in multiple worlds her whole life. I was trained globally as a therapist and creating a space that is made for ALL OF YOU is paramount to me. I want you to bring your whole self to therapy (and all the generations you come with)…as Maya Angelou said “I come as one, but stand as 10,000”. I know these layers are complex, and I am a big believer that you possess a wisdom much bigger than anything I can tell you. My work with you is to be by your side as we figure out what comes next. I have several tools and methods I use, primarily integrating the body, mind and spirit in everything we do. I’m also a big believer and advocate of choice; we share power in this relationship. I know how life changing it can be to find the right therapist, and I want you to find relief so you can start living your most authentic life.
Contact me for a free therapy consultation
I know it can feel like a big step to call a therapist, but I encourage you to think of it as a conversation. We’ll spend 20-minutes on the phone and I’ll let you know how or if I can help, and if we would be a good fit to work together. Connecting with the right person is the most important part of a successful therapy experience, and if I am not the right person, I’ll do my best to help you find what is the next right direction for you. Contact me at (602) 633-5216 for your free 20-minute phone consultation for therapy. I currently see clients virtually who are located in Arizona and Hawaii. My specialties include working with South Asian women impacted by trauma and stress, anxiety and depression and navigating first generation crossroads.
